  Our bathroom project was challenging, for several reasons. ( Pandemic, supply issues, the sink we ordered was defective X2, we had a baby in the middle of everything because the timeline kept getting backed up due to supply issues, etc.) The end product was spectacular and we are so pleased with everyone’s attention to detail during the install.  We loved working with Dawn.  her excitement and experience with working with an old house was so helpful,  All of her suggestions were in line with our design vision.  Tyler was great.  he had to deal with our crazy family life, but was very respectful of our space with the new baby.  His craftmanship and attention to detail was incredible!  Martin helped install the bathroom sink at the end which turned into a huge ordeal because the company that we ordered from was defective twice!  Because we purchased the sink ourselves.  I spent alot of time on the phone with customer service which was very inconvenient but Martin took the time to take detailed pictures of the sink issues and emailed the company a complete description of every issue.  He spent extra time doing that and I will forever be grateful for his kindness and attention to detail.                                                   The main issue (aside from the sink) was that we waited several weeks for our floor tile to come in.  There were a couple weeks that no work was done at all because nothing could move forward without the tile.  When the tile finally arrived, it was the wrong pattern!  This resulted in waiting even longer for the correct tile to be ordered and shipped.        Overall, loved working with your company aside from all the issues there were.  Thank you!

Hughes Kitchens and Bath Remodeling Firm remodeled our master bathroom, and we were very pleased with the whole process. The planning started with Tony who has a great personality along with wonderful ideas for putting the remodel together. He was always eager to help and meet with us. When we entered the showroom we were greeted and made comfortable with a few refreshments. Our project started by Mike who completed all the demolition and plumbing for the shower and bathtub. Mike was a hard worker who definitely liked what he did and wanted us to be satisfied. Tyler is a very talented worker who impressed us with his work ethic. He was always on time and very pleasant when he arrived in the morning. If we had any questions, Tyler was always willing to answer and do his best to make us satisfied. At the end of each day our bedroom, bathroom and garage were swept and cleaned as best as possible. We couldn’t have been more pleased with every aspect of our experience with Hughes Kitchens & Bath! From the first time Tony came out to look at our kitchen to the final result, everything was handled with the utmost attention to detail, courtesy and respect, and the most fantastic quality product. And their price was great! We paid so much less for handmade cabinet doors of solid maple than the price we received from another contractor for a pressboard covered with plastic to look like wood.

Our carpenter was Jeff and we came to trust him implicitly. His attention to detail, knowledge of the job, and demand for perfection were amazing to see. We began to say that “if that’s what Jeff recommends then that’s what we want to be done.”

The transformation to our kitchen is so dramatic that it’s hard to believe that we chose the “kitchen makeover” because it looks like a completely new, custom made kitchen.

We have recommended Hughes Kitchens and Bath to our friends, and now they are getting a new kitchen too! I’ll keep recommending them because I’d hate to see anyone get ripped off by those other companies that are installing shoddy products for three times the cost, and using questionable sales practices to do so. Overall we were satisfied with our experience. I was a walk-in customer and received a warm welcome to the showroom by the owner.Upon scheduling an appointment for the rep. to come to our home I was given a brief description of the project mgmt by the salesman.I informed the salesman that we were seeking an additional quote for the bathroom remodel. But after waiting several weeks for the additional quote ,we decided to contract Hughes Kitchens. I could tell from the initial meeting with Tony that he was very interested in taking on our remodel. I felt comfortable talking with him and conveying our wants and needs. Our project was not only a remodel but included plumbing repairs for previous failing products due to age 44 yrs.

Tony helped me make decisions on products that would best suit our needs and not go way over our initial budget.It was my decision after doing product research to upgrade to a higher priced bathtub and go with waterproofing system instead of one piece surround.At first I was not completely sold on beadboard installed but really like it now, It really helped when Tony showed me samples of the product in the showroom when I was making the final selections. Putting the bath and tile next to the beadboard and the floor helped me visualize how everything would look.

I love the vanity we chose.I did purchase the mirror and new lighting fixture from Lighting By Design.That company was okay but they were slow in notifying me when the product came in from the manufactures.I had to call them to find out the product was in before they even contacted me.The installer assigned to my project (Curt) was fantastic. I was impressed that he was able to do all the work. His skills and workmanship was great.It was nice having one person in and not several different teams doing different phases of the project.I really thought there was going to be demo team,plumber,wall & flooring team.Curt answered all my questions.

Great Job and everyone in our family loves the bathroom ! We will be in touch when we get ready to do our master bath which is next. Thank You!!

Our house was built in 1980 and contained the usual separation of rooms that lacked the open layout convenient for entertaining and allowing natural sunlight into the home. Our goal was to change this. In 1984 we added a 2 floor addition to the rear of our house that resulted in the kitchen being on the inside of the house away from the outside wall. We began the process of finding a contractor at the local home show. Of those that responded to our inquiry this contractor was the most responsive and took a noticeable interest in providing us with a product that would best fit our desires. They took the time to ensure they understood what it was we were trying to accomplish and that we understood the steps to having this accomplished. In addition their pricing was competitive and the quality of the products provided were excellent. Once work started they were present every work day. As work progressed there were issues that arose, all of which were addressed and resolved immediately. A major structural issue was identified with the addition added in 1984. A solution was recommended and upon agreement immediately implemented to ensure the project continued on schedule. The personnel assigned to this job were professional and took personal pride in doing an excellent job. The contractor took steps up front to revise plumbing and electrical design issues so as to avoid any need to revisit any potential problems at a later date. The warranty issued by this contractor is very complete and leaves us with little concern should any issues arise, (Which I doubt will). The job was finished on time, the workmanship is excellent and the little lady is happy. How could it be any better.

From the moment we walked into the office/showroom of HUGHES KITCHENS on Cleveland Ave. NW, we realized that we were dealing with a professional and welcoming team. We were introduced to Mike Pierce and from that point on we were in good hands. Following discussions with Mike P. concerning what we wanted to achieve, he took our ideas/wishes and began to give us options and choices. Never rushing us, we were given opportunities to take samples home before arriving at our decisions.

When Mike P. came to our home (arriving at the exact appointed time) he offered ideas and possibilities that we had never considered. He had OUR VISION in mind and worked to achieve our goal. He designed exactly what we had in mind. The detailed estimate that was presented to us was very clear and in language that WE could understand. The agreement/contract was signed.

As the construction date arrived and we met the “workers”, we were immediately impressed. The term “workers” was soon changed to “friends”. These gentlemen were professional, courteous, concerned,and friendly. Above all, they were masters of their trade. We were informed of what was to take place each day (from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM). Their work was neat….their work was exact….in several cases, the gentlemen went beyond what was expected. Their clean-up each day was wonderful. In yet another positive point…..the job was completed on the exact day that was promised. We were thrilled with our two worker “friends”.

Three weeks following the completion of our kitchen, Mike P. made an appointment for a final inspection. Again arriving at the exact scheduled time, we spent an hour going over our completed project. At one point we noticed a small chip on the underside of the Cambria Quartz counter. Mike took note and informed us that we would hear from the Cambria installers. Talk about being impressed…..45 minutes after Mike left our home, we received a phone call from Cambria to set a time for their visit to remedy the situation.

We present this account of our experience with HUGHES KITCHENS to convey our appreciation and to inform any would-be customer that HUGHES KITCHENS is a company to be trusted and respected. We wanted to add our experiences to the reputation that the company has built. Reputation and honest work is to be treasured.

On a side note: At his final inspection, Mike P. presented us with a gift of selected Heggy Chocolates. After thanking him, I said that this was perhaps the most expensive bag of chocolates that I have ever received and that I would take several days to savor each piece. I quickly added, however, that I still have many years to be able to “savor” and admire OUR WONDERFUL KITCHEN.

My ex-boyfriend had contracted with another company to have a huge addition put on my home. It got totally messed up. It had many errors especially in the foundation, leveling etc. I contracted to have the roof added by another company and they flooded the house because they didn’t tarp correctly when a storm came up. I then found a plumber too rough in the plumbing for the bathroom and he ran off with the money. A second plumber completed the job and charged 3 times the original estimate/contract agreed upon and ended up taking me to court for additional money. The Anderson slider patio doors that we installed kept leaking and for 3 years I was after them to fix the problems. Finally one day, crying I ended up in Hughes Kitchens and Baths’ showroom. After they calmed me down, they agreed to help me and not take advantage of me. They estimated costs, stuck to their agreements, fixed so many of the previous problems and finally completed my addition after 10 years in the making. They worked with me in stages so the cost would stay out of pocket and I didn’t have to borrow (which is what I really loved). They really cared about me and my house. I will not go to anyone else. Thank you Hughes Kitchens and Bath for my beautiful home! Everyone that sees the house just loves it. I will see you again with my next project.

 When we first started the kitchen remodel process, we didn’t realize how many decisions had to be made.  Decisions such as cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, colors, etc.  Working with Tony enabled us to make the decisions that resulted in a kitchen we are happy with the way it turned out.  John and Aaron were very professional.  We were very pleased with the quality of their work and their attention to detail.  John and Aaron were at the jobsite everyday at the specified time,  John planned and performed the work efficiently which minimized the amount of time it took to complete the project.  Whenever possible, John would re-attach the stove before leaving so we could use it to cook on that night.  John made sure the job site was clean before leaving for the day.  We also appreciated the trash pickups which eliminated the need for a dumpster in our driveway.  We are very satisfied with the kitchen remodel and we would use Hughes  Kitchens again.

We are very happy with the complete kitchen remodel that was finished in May 2019. The entire team was very professional, courteous and responsive in their dealings with us. Hughes spent significant time in advance with us, which included home visits, so they could learn how we wanted to use our kitchen, match woodwork and other colors used in the home and determine the best layouts for us to select from. The remodeler/carpenter assigned to our project was a perfect choice as his attention to detail and work was superb. This is critical when you have an older home as the walls and floors are not always exact due to settling of the foundation over time. It was important for us to have a worksite that was kept as clean and dust free as possible. In addition, we had hardwood oak floors that were in very good condition that had to be protected during the project. Hughes was also very good about keeping on track with the project so it was started and completed when promised.
